A large pedunculated myxoid liposarcoma of the cervical esophagus is
presented. Because of its long pedicle, the presenting symptoms were
primarily respiratory rather than digestive. The tumor lent itself to local
excision rather than esophageal resection, given the absence of involvement
of its pedicle and the resultant wide margin of excision. Review of the
literature did not disclose a similar case.
