Case histories of four patients with gangrene of the lung are presented.
All of these patients had characteristic radiographic features of the
disease. Two patients had resection and survived. One patient who
spontaneously coughed up necrotic tissue via the bronchus survived. One
patient who died of an acute myocardial infarction was found at autopsy to
have the characteristic pathologic findings of gangrene of the lung.
