The authors are to be applauded for their initiative in combining the experience from separate centers in Salt Lake City and Denver to provide us with important information in the management of children with Marfan and Marfan-like syndromes. The essence of their data relates to the 30 patients who underwent aortic root surgery at a mean age of 14 years and in whom 21 had a valve-sparing procedure compared to 9 having a composite replacement or a Bentall-type procedure.
