Reply to the Editor:

Because the periods of cumulative follow-up of patients are not sufficient for each implant position, the linearized rates of the complications have been calculated by means of cumulative follow-up.

A detailed study, including the late results of four different cardiac valve prostheses (Omniscience, Medtronic, Sorin, and Ultracor) and emphasizing the linearized rates of the complications according to the position of implantation, is being prepared for publication.
