Cine-ventriculogram on left from 1993 shows 37% ejection fraction and excellent contraction of remote muscle when systolic and diastolic phases are compared. Cine-ventriculogram on right from 2000 shows severe cardiac dilation, reduction of ejection fraction to 14%, and high-end systolic and diastolic volume indices.

Cine-MRI on left shows absent contraction in anterolateral wall, despite normal muscle thickness. Gadolinium scan on right shows necrosis, with evidence of late hyperenhancement.

Trabecular scar is seen in open left ventricle, with no demarcation between white scar and visibly pink muscle. This change is assessed by palpation, and suture placement is shown in one site as Fontan suture is initiated to define muscle to be excluded.
